What People Are Saying
-
Awareness can be the key to a positive outcome. I wear mine with pride.

March 27, 2017Dear Santa,
I am asking you to bring some understanding and enlightenment to people I encounter.
I have been getting cancer treatments for a little over a year and I am finding certain comments hurtful and dismissive. When asked how I am doing I usually answer ‘fine, but tired’. I am met with responses of “why do you think you are so tired?” and other responses of “you’ll be fine”, “just stay positive” and “you know they are putting poison in you”. I believe these people mean well and don’t know what to say, but it leaves me feeling discounted. I am no drama queen but feel these comments are insensitive and not supportive.
A more appropriate, supportive response to someone going through a challenging medical time would be “I hope the treatment is successful, wishing you the best outcome” or “I am sure you must get tired, I bet those naps help.”
Don’t barrage someone with texts and phone calls after an appointment, you don’t know how fatiguing or what happened in that appointment. And please don’t ask if you can “share” the medical information with others. It feels like a gossip channel not a support system.
Anyway I hope this letter can be used to enlighten the support system of anyone going through a medical crisis. What to Say and What Not to Say to Someone Newly Diagnosed with CancerJoan S., Massachusetts

I loved the keychain, the meaning behind "No One Fights Alone", and being able to write a gift note for my brother. I wanted him to keep it as a reminder that just as he was always there for me, I would always be there for him and stay right by his side as he fought this kidney cancer. Unfortunately, he never recovered from his surgery to remove the tumor and he sadly passed away the day this came in. I solemnly gave this to his daughter. Nice item made of nice materials.

I had thyroid cancer. I love that Choose Hope has products for all types of cancer.
Breast cancer gets so much attention and other types are pushed to the back burner. It is great to be able to wear items with the Thyroid Cancer colors, both on me and my car. I've bought magnets for everyone in my family.
I have also recommended Choose Hope to friends.Cancer Sucks® WristbandCustomer in LEMOYNE

October 16, 2015It would be nice if the magnet read Cholangio Cancer, but given how rare it is I am pleased you have added gallbladder-bile duct magnets and ribbons to your collections. I have this on my car, and it sparks conversation.

When my hubby was diagnosed, I decided to find wristbands with his cancer colors. These are great because they are inexpensive, come in all the colors, have 3 size options, the motto is wonderful, and they are comfortable. He and all his "girls" are wearing them, even his 10 year old granddaughter. A note: His hands and wrists are medium size for a man, but he needed the large size band; my wrists and hands are small, so the regular adult one practically fell off and I had to get the youth size. Definitely measure before buying.

January 15, 2018I am unable to find anything like this available in Australia generally, and am so pleased to have found that i can buy these wrist bands, at such a great price and with such reasonably and quick postage.
I have bought some of these previous to this order and my dad passed away 3 weeks ago, which makes them even more important to me. Thank you!!Cancer Sucks® WristbandCustomer in Victoria - AUSTRALIA
July 26, 2011I looooved this necklace! When purchasing it I was worried about the size, whether it would be too big or small but I was happily surprised to find that it was the perfect size. Unfortunately, I lost it on vacation which was a major blow because it honestly was my favorite piece of jewelry. Very good for the price, strongly recommend.

December 2, 2017I ordered white lung cancer bracelets that say NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE! for my parents and siblings since my dad is undergoing chemo (after surgery) for lung cancer. We wear them, and he wore his CANCER WARRIOR button to his first chemo treatment.

I originally purchased these Ribbon Appliques during my daughter's rec season of softball. Close family friend and teammate's dad had passed away during our season from cancer. The families wanted to show their support for this family and so we bought these ribbons to put on the jersey sleeves. The whole team and coaches wore them all season long.
The summer tournament season is about to begin and so I reordered more so that we can again honor and remember our dear friend. Love these...Ribbon AppliqueCustomer in Northern California

May 11, 2014Every time I start to fret over my upcoming chemo or I'm in pain from my recent surgery--I look at this bracelet to remind me what the "C" can't do. It may invoke fear---but I'm stronger than that and I WILL survive because I have HOPE. Thanks for keeping me grounded through this tough time!

February 5, 2013One of our church members was recently diagnosed with acute lukemia and we bought these as a fundraiser and as a prayer reminder. The church loved them and now the majority of the church is walking around with orange wristbands that show a sign of unity in our member's fight against cancer. Great product!

I first purchased this pin in lavender when I started working as a chaplain in the cancer unit of a local hospital last year. Later that same year when my mom was diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma I gave it to her on her first day of chemo. I now wear a plum caregiver one and I absolutely love everything about this pin. It started off as a way for me to stand in solidarity with my patients and their families. Then the meaning got a whole lot deeper. I'm so glad this product exists. It took a beating and still looks flawless.

May 22, 2014Thanks again, especially to to Chris, for responding to me via earlier email comments about Choose Hope's products and what the "No One Fights Alone" wristbands have meant to my sister in law, who after being diagnosed with breast cancer last fall, has become an advocate for getting women to become proactive on getting yearly exams. That, along with the over 500 wristbands that I've purchased from Choose Hope, to pass out to anyone she meets, has made her an active crusader for women's health. I'm hoping that after she completes her year-long chemo treatment - she's winning her fight - that she'll continue her crusade and possibly become a volunteer at one of the local cancer services - she's retired and enjoys talking to people.
I was sorry to hear that Chris lost her battle with battle, but I know that Choose Hope has to be proud of the inspiration that she providds to get your business started. Keep up the good work - and best wishes.

January 31, 2012There are a number of these "Zebra design" wrist bands available. This one has the sharpest color differentiation between the black and white. The stripes are different widths which is also looks more like Zebra strips. The others are "fuzzy" looking. I'm very happy with this one. Thanks.

I bought two different bracelets-one for my friend that has just become a cancer survivor, and one for my friend that lost her mother to Ovarian cancer last year. Their reaction was the same-they both cried at the beauty of these bracelets.

My Relay For Life team is a Survivor Team, and we fundraise mostly using Cancer Awareness items. The magnets are a huge hit! They are economical to purchase and you can double your cost without making them cost prohibitive for customers. Most importantly, the selection covers almost all cancers. Just remember to remove the magnets from you car if you go to an automatic car wash. They can't withstand the pressure!

Leather bracelet is a great idea. The men's version uses black leather for all cancer types with small bands in the corresponding cancer colors. We bought two, for lung cancer (white) and carcinoid cancer (zebra). Unless you know what to look for, it's hard to tell them apart. Please consider additional leather colors for the men's leather ribbon awareness bracelets. Finally, the magnetic closure is not as strong as the magnetic clasp on the women's bracelet.
