November is Stomach Cancer Awareness month. About 27,500 cases of Stomach Cancer will be diagnosed this year, affecting more men than women. Stomach Cancer mostly affects older people. The average age of diagnosis is 68, with about 60% of cases are in people 65 or older.

Over the last 10 years, the number of new cases being diagnosed has decreased by 1.5% per year, the reasons for this decline are not completely known.
