I was 39 when I was diagnosed. No one wants to hear the words “you have cancer”. I told my oncologist that I wasn’t doing chemo. I had stage 2B cancer, lymph nodes were involved so I had to do radiation and chemo. My oncologist told me and my mom that if I didn’t do chemo, I wouldn’t be around in 3 years. So I endured 6 months of chemo and 30 radiation treatments. Well, 23 years later, I’m HERE and I participate in many breast cancer events in my hometown. I try to inspire and help patients when I can. Always choose HOPE!
